It has tinny piecing and a little wool applique heart in the center. I decided to enlarge the quilt. I added a pieced border that frames the center beautifully. A few more fabric borders to anchor colors then an on-point border made from 9-patch blocks. A large expanse of light pink in the four corners was perfect to showcase applique.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eI created a floral and vine pattern using hearts for the flowers. I chose wool applique to add texture, color and a bit of whimsey to the quilt. The appliques are stitched with matching thread. The edges are embroidered with floss using the button hole stitch. A final outer border in strong red prints created the final frame.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eFor the backing I used the “Rolling Sea” print by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabrics. The batting is 50% Bamboo\/50% Cotton.
