Borders & Blooms
I was given a selection of fat quarter cuts of border prints from the 1990’s. I was able to cut the four rectangles in the 9-patch variation block that I used for this quilt from a fat quarter. Large floral prints are the focus in the center of each block with a variety of other related prints used in the outer corners of the blocks.
I had an Indian border block print, Prisilla Miller for Chapel House Div. of EZ International Fabrics Co. 1993, that I used for the accent borders between the block rows.
The backing combines complimentary prints and the binding and sashing fabric are the same. To keep with the floral theme, I quilted the pattern hanging flowers and used a traditional cotton batting.
