Earth & Sky

“Green Thumb” fabrics by Edyta Sitar (earth) combine with a galaxy of stars (sky). I used a complementary palette of greens and reds to create this traditional style quilt.

I designed the pattern for the central churn dash star blocks. Next, I added a border of alternating friendship star and Ohio star blocks. The final outer border is “Bordering on Brilliance 2” by Jinny Beyer for RJR fabrics. It coordinates beautifully with the wide variety of fabrics and ties the quilt together.

The backing features a carpenter’s wheel panel by Buttermilk Basin. I used a batting of 80% cotton/20% polyester. The quilting pattern is the Baptist fan. All are in keeping with the historic feel of this stunning king-size quilt.

Finished Size: King - 97’’ x 96’’
