This is a unique quilt. Vintage gloves are appliqued around a crochet doily. The gloves are open, and you can put your hand into them (if they are small enough).

The central composition is surrounded by vintage embroidered and appliqued flower blocks. These pre marked blocks and applique fabrics were often sold as kits from newspaper advertisements, quilt houses, and department stores. The vintage items, gloves, doily and flower blocks, are from the 1940’s – 1950’s. The outer border is a reproduction feed sack era print. Yellow fabric for the sashing along with teal corners complements the design.

I followed the printed feather quilting designs on the blocks. Additional feathers are quilted in the center and around the border with leaves in the sashing.

This one of a kind quilt would look lovely in a bedroom decorated in vintage mid-20th century décor.
