Colorful quilt draped over a wooden chair with a neutral background

Pasisir Shadows

$1,050.00

A wide array of Indonesian and Java printed fabrics are featured in this shadow block quilt. A light gray background and black shadows allow the prints to shine.

Pasisir was the name for the north coast of Java during the early sixteenth century until the establishment of Dutch colonial rule in 1830. Many of the batiks and printed fabrics in this quilt are from that region. The name is a nod to the extensive history behind the fabrics we love today.

To finish the quilt, I used a backing with silver circling dots across the fabric. The batting is 80% cotton, 20% polyester and the quilting thread is  polyester by Superior threads. I did an edge-to-edge geometric pattern to complement the prints.

Finished size - king, 97’’ x 97’’
