Rococo

$1,150.00

This historically influenced quilts has the feel and look of the Rococo period which ran from approximately 1720-1780. It originated in France and spread through the western world. It was ornate, excessive, and decadent. Some of the design features included pastel color palettes and naturalistic motifs like shells, flowers, and vines.

For this quilt I used a fabric selection in a range of pinks and teal. The medallion setting starts with a central Shoo-fly block. Each border features a different block or combination of blocks. There are so many wonderful prints and colors to see in this ornate quilt.

To continue with the Rococo theme. I quilted an allover meandering feathered vine. A batting of 80% Cotton/20% polyester adds a traditional look and drape.

The backing fabric adds a bit of whimsy with Grand Revival “Dolce” by Tanya Whelan for Free Spirit. A teal-colored binding finishes this delightful quilt.
