Scrappy Celebration

Scrappy Celebration

This quilt is made up of oh, so many small bits and pieces. The pattern scrappy Celebration by Lissa Alexander was published in the April 2023 American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine. I added extra rows and boarders to make it a California King size quilt.

I chose historically influenced fabrics in warm brown, green and red tone. The outer border features a pillar print. The inner border and binding use a red stripe print that finished this outstanding scrap quilt.

The backing has more of the pillar print with a mix of stripped tans. An 80% cotton, 20% polyester batting gives the quilt a traditional drape. For the quilting I chose a complementary allover pattern “Loves Me, Loves Me Not”.
