Swell Log Cabin & Stars

The log cabin block is a staple in quilting. For this quilt I started with the log cabin block and added subtle hidden stars in the sashing.

The fabric line Swell, which is featured in this quilt, has a retro 1940’s look. It reminds me of my grandmother. She loved pink.

Custom quilting takes this throw up a notch. The outer border has triple swags, ribbon candy and feather fill which is contrasted with straight lines in the outer edges. The center of the quilt has meandering feathered swirls.

A traditional cotton batting keeps with the retro influence.
