Wool Baskets

The applique block patterns are by Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup. I rendered the appliques in wool with a button hole embroidery stitch around the edges.

The setting I designed has a triple sashing with multiple borders. I used the fabric line Dargate Lavender & Mint c.1830/1870 by Margo Kroger for Windham Fabrics. One border has alternating nine patch blocks in different fabric combinations. The charming outer border print frames the composition.

I used wool batting and cotton thread. Custom quilting with echo quilting around the applique blocks and lots of feathers and swirls finishes this stunning quilt.
