Blessed
If a primitive influence is what you are looking for this stunning quilt is sure to please. Historic prints combine with classic colors of creams, tan, red and black. Traditional 9-patch and rail fence blocks weave across the quilt top.
I used the pattern “Liberty” by Ann Weber of the Gingham Girls; featured in McCall’s Quilting Magazine July/Aug 2011. The fabric lines Blessed Beyond Measure by Buttermilk Basin and Peppercorn by Andover Fabrics are combined with a variety of fabrics from my fabric stash. A rich red print is used for the backing and a solid tan for the binding.
I finished the quilt with a batting of 100% wool which adds warmth while keeping the quilt light weight as well as highlighting the quilting. Straight line quilting complements the linear design of the piecing for a quilt that you will love for many years.
