The colors of the earth and sky come together in this magnificent quilt. The pattern is by Laundry Basket Quilts. It was Edyta Sitar’s summer 2022 mystery quilt. She designed the pattern in two sizes. A 6’’ block and a 9’’ block. This quilt features the smaller 6’’ block.

I used a variety of mellow blue and cream prints to represent the sky and snowy mountains. An accent of terracotta brings in the earth and canyons. The outer border is a lovely 1800’s style print, “Timeless” by Jo Morton for Moda Fabrics. A tan backing and blue binding unites this earthy quilt.

For the finishing touches I used a wool batting and the quilting pattern Peas in a Pod.
