Metallic Stars

Stars shimmer and spin across this quilt. The elegant metallic fabric line “Persis” by Robert Kaufman is showcased in this clever pattern “60 Degree Stars” from Block Idea Book by Missouri Star Quilt Company. For the background fabric I used a tone on tone print from Buttermilk Basins “Blessed Beyond Measure”. The backing is a mottled batik which matches beautifully with the Persis coloring.

In the freehand quilting I did lines, circles, and waves. I used a jewel tone variegated polyester thread by Superior which adds a secondary layer of color and texture. Batting is 80% cotton/20% polyester by Winline Textiles.

Included with this quilt is a matching dresser runner with a cotton batting.  16’’ x 32.5’’
