Resolution

Resolution is my interpretation of an antique 1880’s quilt that was posted on Instagram @catsonquilt November 2024. I could not get the quilt out of my mind, so my 2025 new year’s resolution was to create my own version of the quilt.

I used traditional and reproduction prints from my scraps to make this fabulous medallion quilt. Throughout 2024 I worked on piecing 9-patch blocks from my 1.5” scraps. The 9-patch blocks used in the center and fourth border came from this stockpile of 3’’ finished blocks.

The backing fabric is “Color Daze” by Laundry Basket Quilts for Moda. For the batting I used 50% bamboo, 50% cotton by Winline Textiles.

In keeping with Victorian era styles, I quilted the Baptist fan design.
