Sweet Treats
Sweethearts, caramel, and licorice come to mind when I look at this color combination. I used the quilt pattern “Liberty” by Ann Weber featured in McCall’s Quilting Magazine July/Aug. 2011. Classic rail fence and 9-patch blocks combine for a striking quilt. A variety of traditional fabric prints are used to create the look of a late 1800’s quilt. The backing is “Unforgettable” by Jen Allyson for Riley Blake Designs.
This quilt screamed for feathered quilting which I executed in an allover meandering design. All-natural wool batting accentuates the quilting and gives warmth without extra weight.
All fabrics are cotton. Batting is Winline Textiles wool. Thread is Glide polyester on top and Superior polyester on the bottom.
