Tell Me Another Story
For the foundation of this elegant quilt, I used a variety of fabrics from the fabric line “Kathleen’s Story” by Chris Schulte for Marcus Fabrics. The classic beauty and refinement of the late 18th and early 19th century are reflected in this quilt. Yellow and brown tones along with green, pink, and cream colors convey a restful and classical look.
A stunning rose floral print with a brown ground is featured in the central composition and as the outer border. Star blocks abound and are combined with log cabin and rail blocks.
The backing fabric is an 1800’s reproduction print by Jo Morton for Andover Fabrics. The binding print is Buttermilk Autumn by Stacy West for Henry Glass & Co. I used a 6 oz. bamboo batting which gives extra loft to the quilting and warmth for chilly weather. The bamboo drapes beautifully. For the quilting I used an edge-to-edge pattern “Dolce” which complements the botanical prints.
