W. Morris
William Morris was an English textile designer, poet, artist, writer and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. He lived from 1834 - 1896.
The block patterns are from Moda Blockheads 6, an annual sew along. I used reproduction William Morris fabrics by Free Spirit for the emphasis of the quit. The print “Strawberry Thief” which is featured in the star points is a classic and recognizable W. Morris design.
I mixed these Arts and Crafts prints with a variety of fabrics from my stash to create this organic quilt. The earthy colors and classic prints will blend beautifully into your home.
The backing is a leaf print by Fabric Traditions. I quilted an arched floral design and used an 80% cotton/20% polyester batting to keep with the Arts and Crafts natural theme.
